Project and Construction Services, Inc. provided full construction management services on this capital program, which was a participant in the Ohio School Facilities Commission's (OSFC) Expedited Local Partnership Program. The District's ELPP discrete portion included the construction of a new 103,800 sf high school, an addition of 15,492 sf to, and a total renovation of, the 62,500 sf middle school.
The major portion of the sitework for the new high school building was completed in the fall of 2003, and the building design was bid in February 2004, both as originally planned. Bid results were very favorable and work on the new high school building began in earnest in early April. The high school was completed ahead of schedule for the start of the 2005-2006 school year. Design and construction of the middle school additions and renovations was phased to follow the new high school construction to allow for the existing high school to be used as "swing space" during construction at the middle school. The middle school was completed in December 2006.
